Preparing For Your Termite Treatment
Termite Treatment – What to Expect and How to Prepare
Treating Active Termites
If active termites have been confirmed, prompt treatment is the next step. Our licensed team will tailor a plan based on the species involved and the extent of activity.
Treatment Types
Chemical Application
- EIdeal for less aggressive species (e.g. Nasutitermes)
- Applied directly to affected areas or nests
- Follow-up visit in 2–4 weeks to confirm elimination
Above-Ground Baiting Program
- Best for aggressive or widespread species (e.g. Coptotermes)
- Bait stations installed at key locations
- Monitored every 3–4 weeks until colony eradication (several months)
Your technician will explain the chosen method on the day and answer any questions.
How to Prepare
- Don’t disturb the affected area
- Ensure access to subfloor, roof void, and any previously inspected zones
- If bait stations are installed, do not move or interfere with them
- Clean floors and surfaces the day before treatment to avoid interfering with application
Pets and children
- Please keep pets and children away from treated areas for at least 2 hours, or until all treated surfaces are completely dry
- For baiting programs, ongoing supervision is important to ensure baits are not tampered with
After Treatment
- Avoid cleaning treated areas for 48 hours unless otherwise instructed
- You may notice an increase in activity as the treatment takes effect
- Follow-up visits may be scheduled depending on the treatment pathway
We’ll provide full aftercare instructions during the visit.
